OKINAWA TOKUSHINRYU KOBUDO
Tokushin Ryu Kobudo corresponds to the system created by the master Kensho Tokumura who, after 50 years of combined training of Karate & Kobudo, decides to develop his own system based on his experience, learning and own vision. Tokushin Ryu Kobudo is an eclectic system that is based on the traditional weapons of Okinawa which emphasize powerful technique utilizing ‘Chinkuchi’. It is a blend of traditional Kobudo weapons and includes obscure weapons that were in danger of becoming historically lost.
SEISHINKAN & TOKUSHINRYU KOBUDO:
Seishinkan has registered in the last decade of its history, a considerable qualitative growth, which has led to a deeper understanding of the mission and vision that guides the work of each dojo, Sensei and students of our organization in relation to the teaching of budo.
This has resulted, among other things, in the birth of a concern that has led to the establishment of a search plan and a deeper link with the Kobudo of Okinawa (沖縄古武道) in order to further complement the practice and understanding of the management of traditional weapons.
THE BEGINNING OF A NEW WAY OF GROWTH
One of the main objectives that motivated the trip to Europe of Diego Sensei, has been the search of the growth and the deepening in the martial art. In this frame, 2016 was the year of the realization of several projects, the most relevant being the one that took him to the kingdom of Denmark as a representative of Seishinkan, and to contact the representative of Kensho Tokumura Sensei and director of Tokushinryu Kobudo for Europe, Sensei Lars Andersen. This meeting sought to resume the contact made in 2001 during the series of Rengokai World Tournament & Seminars, Atlanta USA between Osvaldo Rodriguez and Lars Andersen Sensei.
In this opportunity, Diego expresses the intention of Seishinkan to develop future projects together with Joshinkan and Tokushinryu Europe. In this way, he is accepted as a student and formally initiates the process of training and research of Tokushinryu Kobudo under the direction of the organization in the continent.
Jan Overgaard Sensei, former Goju Ryu practitioner and IOGKF’s instructor in Denmark, is until today the tutor in charge of teaching and levelling the technical program required by the organization. A long and intense process of training was witness to the birth of a powerful friendship that grew with each practice and that process of the principles and foundations of the style. The daily training process with Jan Sensei was complemented with the detailed and precise suggestions of Lars sensei during the monthly instructor’s training, aimed at delivering the general guidelines and levelling corrections to the leaders and referents of the organization.

In this way and within the framework of the accelerated program of training for instructors of the organization in Europe, Diego sensei is summoned to be examined for shodan in 2017 and Nidan in 2018. Both events were held in the already traditional Winter Camp and Tokushinryu Cup (click here for further information) held in the city of Copenhagen, Denmark.
Kihon and the complete program including Bo, Eku, Tekko, Tichu, Sai, Nunti Sai, and the Bo – Bo and Bo – Sai kumite were part of the requirements examined under the watchful eyes of Lars Andersen Sensei and Mards Nørby Sensei, two of the highest ranks in Tokushinryu Europe.
Currently, Diego Rodriguez Sensei:
